Jose Cornelio Guterres, Ph.D.

  Timor-Leste

I hold a Master's degree in Sociology and a Doctorate in Anthropology from the Asian Social Institute in Manila, Philippines.

Presently, I serve as the Executive President of the National Institute for Science and Technology (INCT) in Timor-Leste. Additionally, I am engaged as a researcher at the national Institute for Science and Technology, researcher and lecturer at  the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities of the Universidade da Paz in Dili. I also teach Sociology at the Institute of Philosophy of Sao Joao Bosco(Salesian)  in Dili, Timor-Leste.

My research interests primarily focus on various aspects of social sciences, including Education, Tradition and culture of Timor-Leste, Youth and Urban conflict, Suicide in Timor-Leste, Election Process in Timor-Leste, as well as issues pertaining to political uncertainty in Timor-Leste, among others.

I have contributed to both national and international journals through publications of my research findings. Furthermore, I have had the privilege to speak at numerous conferences at both the national and international levels.
